PSSUPT TINIO emphasized in his statement that deep-rooted as it is, completely stopping illegal gambling requires a total approach strategy by all sectors. Police action is only one dimension of the total approach, the larger and more important elements must come from the local political leadership, community and all stakeholders. PPO’s campaign against all forms of illegal gambling has been relentless and the drive against illegal gambling would be best described as a ‘shared responsibility and accountability’ between all sectors of the society.
